We were pushing a trolley through a major retail store, and it was a complete nightmare. The wheels were jammed, the frame was pulling violently to one side, and we had to fight the machine just to keep it moving in a straight line. By the time we got to the car, our wives were complaining about how frustrating the entire experience was. One of them actually had a visibly stiff, aching arm just from countering the broken steering for an hour.

As engineers, it drove us crazy. We started looking around and suddenly saw the truth everywhere: retail stores and commercial warehouses were littered with neglected, broken, and unsafe fleets. Shoppers were frustrated, operations were slowing down, and businesses were letting their customer experience literally rattle away.

That was the moment we said, “No. We have to do something about this.”

We realized that a trolley isn’t just a piece of metal—it’s the very first point of physical contact a customer has with a business. If that experience fights them, it hurts the brand.
